I honestly don't know where to begin when describing Shelby and Daniel's wedding day. From the moment we arrived to begin their getting ready coverage, to portrait time with its amazing views of the Kansas City skyline, all the way through to the reception, there was a constant stream of beautiful moments and honest and deep emotion. To say that Shelby and Daniel created a wedding celebration that surpassed and exceeded any expectations I might have had is an understatement. Every part of their day was replete with beauty.

We started our day at the Silver Heart Inn for getting ready photos. The Inn is the perfect mix of old-world style and welcoming warmth. Shelby and her bridesmaids looked gorgeous as they donned their 1920s style attire. The details were all so glamorous.

Makeup artist Dalia Luna and hairstylist Alex Smith created the perfect vintage look for Shelby.

Shelby's simple trumpet gown complimented her hourglass figure, and her beaded bolero was the ultimate Art Deco finishing touch. Emotions ran high in the room as Shelby waited for her dad to come in and share a few special moments before she went to meet her groom.

Meanwhile, Daniel prepared to meet his beautiful bride...

After their first look, Shelby and Daniel went downstairs to see Daniel's grandpa, a World War II vet who had a special gift for his grandson on his wedding day...

There wasn't a dry eye in the room as Daniel was presented with his Grandpa's heirloom pocket watch. Family means so much to this couple. After a few family portraits, we drove downtown to the newly remodeled Power and Light building for wedding party photos. What a privilege it was to be allowed early access to this historic landmark of the KC skyline.

After some photos outside the building with its gorgeous facade, we took the elevators up to the 29th floor Beacon Lounge for some high fashion bridal portraits. Special thanks to Nicholle with NorthPoint Development for being such a gracious hostess!

And suddenly, it was time to head to the Simpson House for the ceremony and reception. It was a perfect day for an outdoor ceremony at the iconic Beaux Arts mansion. Shelby looked stunning as she walked down the aisle. The ceremony was full of tears, laughter, funny stories, and emotion.

The Simpson House was decorated with beautiful gilded details in keeping with the Jazz Age theme. It doesn't get much classier than this.

The toasts were full of heartfelt words to the bride and groom.

The tables were pushed back, the room was cleared, and Husk DJ services made sure everyone had a great time on the dance floor!

After their sweet and considerate cake cutting, we stole Daniel and Shelby away for a few sunset portraits.

As the evening wrapped up, and it was time to say good bye to our gracious hosts, it was bittersweet to have our time with this wonderful couple end. What a beautiful day Daniel and Shelby created - which is only the first step in a lifetime of beautiful days to come. Thank you for having us, Daniel and Shelby! Your wedding was memorable in every way.
